Cathy L. Seeley has worked for over 35 years in PreK–12 education as a mathematics teacher, district mathematics coordinator, and state mathematics supervisor. From 1999 through 2001, she taught mathematics as a Peace Corps volunteer in Burkina Faso. Dr. Seeley is past president of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and author of the 2009 AEP award-winning book Faster Isn't Smarter: Messages About Math, Teaching, and Learning in the 21st Century. She is currently a senior fellow with the Charles A. Dana Center at the University of Texas.
